Bond Reductions and Pre-arrest Representation

John D. Newkirk represents individuals who have been charged with a crime and are seeking a bond reduction. When an individual is arrested for a General Sessions offense, a Magistrate will set an initial bond that must be posted to secure the release of the individual charged with the crime. If you or a loved one cannot afford to post that bond amount, John D. Newkirk may be able to file a motion for a bond reduction hearing to be held in front of a Circuit Court Judge.

For certain crimes a Magistrate cannot set a bond; an individual charged with this type of crime will not have a bond until an attorney files a motion for a bond hearing in front of a Circuit Court Judge.

John D. Newkirk represents individuals who are being investigated by the police, but who have not yet been charged with a crime. It is vitally important that an individual seek the services of an attorney if that individual is the subject of a police investigation.
